Gladiator Sandals, let’s leave them for the Romans!

I have been seeing gladiator sandals pop up in a lot of shoe stores. They go from the basic leather to the ornate with gold. Celebs have definitely been seen with them. I haven’t really seen them on the average Jane. Is this a fad or a trend with some staying power? They look a little too strapy to be comfortable.

What are your thoughts? I say let’s leave them for the Romans.

So my boyfriend and I were recently at a wedding and he was complaining how hot and uncomfortable men’s suits were. He mentioned that women had it easy because wearing a dress or a skirt let the air cool you off. I now have the answer for him! A company in Seattle sells men’s kilts for everyday wear. First pictured is the utility kilt and for those special occasions there is the tuxedo kilt.

Get ready to shell out some cash for these puppies. They start at about $150 and go up to over $600 a piece!

You have to have a trim tummy to even attempt to pull off this new style.

Virtual Fashions – An entire new world.

Have you heard of the virtual world SecondLife? I know next to nothing about it. Apparently you can buy and sell virtual clothes for your character. They actually have some pretty cute things.
Here is a sample of some of the clothes you can buy. Does anyone know if you have to try these things on?

If you would like to see more of these virtual fashions check of Camie Cooper’s blog where she posts them. Again, I have not idea of how this stuff works. If anyone wants to try and fill me in please try.

MIA: Flight Attendant Fashions

Wow, I forgot how flight attendants used to dress. I think the problem with current airlines is the fashion mistakes they are forcing their employees to make. Come on, lets bring some fashion to the sky! I would like to see some fashion wars much like the price wars they always get into.

1970s: Southwest Airlines experiences a dramatic jump in ticket sales when its flight attendants start wearing white go-go boots and hot pants. The airline adopts a new motto to match (“Sex sells seats”) and begins serving in-flight drinks with names like Passion Punch and Love Potion. Not to be outdone, TWA follows suit in 1971, sending its attendants into the air wearing Valentino-designed hot pants.

Can you imagine a fashion battle of the sky’s? What airline do you think would win?

Fashion is more than just clothes. Adorn yourself with beautiful Henna tattoos. They are used in traditional Indian weddings and the custom is still practiced today! The movie Monsoon Wedding is a great film and is filled with extravagant Indian fashions.

Henna has been used to adorn young women’s bodies as part of social and holiday celebrations since the late Bronze Age in the eastern Mediterranean. The earliest text mentioning henna in the context of marriage and fertility celebrations comes from the Ugaritic legend of Baal and Anath, which has references to women marking themselves with henna in preparation to meet their husbands, and Anath adorning herself with henna to celebrate a victory over the enemies of Baal.
